Recycled Rubber Floor Tiles - Playground Outdoor Rubber Mats

Dflect Rubber Playground Tiles are available in 500 x 500mm and 1000x1000mm in thicknesses of 25mm – 100mm. Dflect rubber floor tiles are manufactured from high quality recycled rubber granulate and tested in accordance with EN 1177.

Our 500 x 500 rubber floor tiles 30mm thick and above are supplied with interlocking pins for laying. When the interlocking tiles are laid in a brick bond formation with the pins they effectively form a large mat, requiring adhesive only on the outside lip of the first and last row if no edge restraint exists

Dflect Interlocking tiles therefore reduce labour and adhesive requirements and allow for installation onto almost any surface with easy inspection of the substrate underneath if required.

Dflect outdoor rubber playground flooring tiles are manufactured with channels on the underside to give excellent drainage and critical fall height test results.

All HIC fall height test results are available on request.

The Dflect range of rubber matting is supplied with a 3-year limited warranty. Please contact us for warranty terms and conditions.

Product FAQs

How to install rubber flooring outdoors?
To install outdoor rubber flooring like Dflect 500 tiles, start with a clean, flat surface and ensure good drainage. Interlocking tiles (30 mm and above) fit together with pins in a brick-bond pattern, forming a continuous mat, and typically only need adhesive along the outer edges where a kerbor upstand doesn't exist. Tiles can be laid onto a compacted type1 or a concrete base. Thick layers of blinding sand should be avoided. Lay tiles tightly, but allow slight spacing for expansion and use edge restraints or ramps to avoid shifting. Good preparation and proper alignment help ensure long-lasting, weather-resistant outdoor flooring.
Can you lift outdoor rubber flooring?
Yes — you can lift outdoor rubber flooring like the Dflect 500 rubber flooring after it’s been installed. These tiles are supplied with interlocking pins meaning they are very easy to left and re-lay. Because of this interlocking design, individual tiles can be picked up and removed if you need access underneath or want to replace or reposition them. If adhesive was only used at the outer edges (which is optional and only where needed), the tiles are still removable with minimal disturbance.
Where to buy outdoor rubber flooring?
You can buy the official Dflect 500 outdoor rubber tiles directly from the manufacturer’s shop page on our Dflect Rubber UK website — we list sizes, colours, and pricing and you can add tiles to your basket and order samples. Tips for buying rubber playground flooring tiles: - Choose tiles with interlocking pins for easier outdoor installation and secure fitting. - Look for drainage channels and weather-resistant materials to ensure long-lasting outdoor performance.
How long does this outdoor rubber flooring last?
Outdoor rubber flooring like the Dflect 500 outdoor rubber tiles is made from high-quality recycled rubber designed to be durable, weather-resistant, and long-lasting. The manufacturer supplies these tiles with a 3-year limited wear-resistance warranty, so you can expect reliable performance under normal use outdoors. In general, well-made rubber flooring installed correctly and maintained (cleaned and checked occasionally) can last many years beyond the warranty, often 10-20 years or more depending on climate, foot traffic and exposure to sun and rain. Rubber naturally resists wear, weathering, and heavy use, making it a strong long-term choice for patios, playgrounds, terraces, and outdoor gyms.
Should I glue down rubber flooring?
For Dflect 500 outdoor rubber flooring, you don’t normally need to glue it down because the tiles come with interlocking pins that lock them together into a continuous mat. Laying them in a brick-bond pattern means they stay in place on most outdoor surfaces without full adhesive coverage. However, optional adhesive is only recommended around the outer edge rows if there’s no edge restraint to help hold the layout secure. Gluing down the edges can improve stability in very high-traffic or exposed areas, but full-surface glue isn’t typically necessary.
Are rubber playground tiles porous?
Yes. Due to the granulated composition of the tile water can flow through them which means they are porous. Dflect rubber tiles also have drainage channels on the underside to allow for rain water flow.
Are rubber playground tiles slip resistant?
Yes, Dflect rubber tiles are tested for slip resisitance in accordance with BS EN 7976 & EN1339 Annex 1 giving slip resistance results of: Dry: 102, Wet: 62 (Low Potential For Slip)
What critical fall heights are dflect rubber tiles tested for?
All dflect rubber playground tiles are tested for fall height in accordance with EN 1177. Generally the thicker the tiles the higher the fall height rating will be. The table below gives some information on test results for our Dflect 500 sbr tiles.
